Dear Tumblr, A feature request.
I should be able to use my Tumblr dashboard like Google Reader. Subscribe to a bunch of stuff that’s outside of the tumbleverse, have it only appear in my dashboard, and make it easy for me to reblog..I’d like to see this happen, too, but I think it’s unlikely as it undercuts the network effects of Tumblr. I encourage people to start Tumblr blogs so that I can read them in my dashboard.
Wouldn’t the opposite happen? Wouldn’t a Blogger user be encouraged to switch if they’re seeing lots of traffic coming in from reblogs?
