blip.tv, which formally ended Internet Week (at least for me and a few others) with their last office party, decided on Monday to throw another last night. So, after stopping by the First Wednesday Cocktail Club for a drink, social-media strategist Nichelle Stephens and I made our way to their office, the former home of happycorp Global in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood via the 6 train.
On our way there, we ran into Business Insider’s Joseph Weisenthal and Departure Film’s Brooke Moreland who were on their way back to Brooklyn, having already stopped by. When we arrived, we found a sizeable crowd there in spite of the fact that the party had only been announced Monday.
We got a chance to speak with McKinsey & Co.’s Devin Brown, his Upper East Side neighbor, consultant Rebecca Schlachter, blip.tv’s Mike Hudack, freelance videographer Bill Cammack, Rubinstein PR’s Adam Isserlis, NYC’s Department of Information Technology and Telecommunication’s Brian Papa (who showed me his new Apple iPhone 3GS and its video capabilities), and Klickable.tv’s Roger Wu (If I missed you, you can let me know here.)
After a few drinks (we heard from one of the evening’s unofficial bartenders that the second keg which blip.tv had purchased was close to being tapped out), we went around the corner for tacos at La Esquina. We didn’t actually go into the “secret” underground restaurant because, really, who has time for that, and instead stood outside the “stand” part.
