iPad+HTML5+iframe=FAIL
So if you’re working on an HTML5 video player, don’t rely on the iframe to be your island. It appears that you cannot programmatically control the video playback even when events are generated by a touch. Outside of the iframe everything works fine. Plan B will be to absolutize a DIV and jam everything in there.

I wrote a little essay for SF Weekly’s culture blog. It’s about how VIP sections ruined SXSWi.
This is why Tim and I throw our Rocketboom + Next New Networks SXSW nonparty as a last minute announcement. Sure, it doesn’t get us any PR but we get people there and we have a good time. No lines, no VIP sections, no problem.
